Southern Illinois Music
River to River Community Records is here to release and promote music made by Southern Illinois artists. We want to help connect the creative people of this region - including Southeast Missouri and Western Kentucky - and also spread awareness about this creative corner of the universe. Please don’t hesitate to contact us!
This label is funded by donations and supported by volunteers.
Community funded
River to River Community Records has always been powered by donations. The contributions from people and businesses in our area (and beyond) will always make up the majority of our funding.
Since our launch in 2021, we have been using an ongoing, online crowd-funding campaign to fund every R2R release. This website is called Patreon. It is a place where supporters can sign up to pledge a sustaining monthly contribution to the record label. Donors can choose to contribute anywhere from $1 to $250 a month. And will receive different benefits depending on the level of support.
Everyone who signs up to support on Patreon can order every R2R release at cost value. You also get access to the online Patreon feed, where you can redeem monthly song downloads, watch exclusive music videos and receive early access to certain content and deals.
The Patreon campaign has proven to be a successful model for River to River Community Records. In 2021 we earned over $6000 using this system of donations. In 2022 it was more than $5000. This has helped fund the release of several vinyl records from Southern Illinois musicians. With more on the way!
Listen Local
Folks who are already a part of this music community know just how special it is. But we aim to expose its magnificence so that everyone who lives here is aware of it. The people who reside in Southern Illinois should know about these skilled creators, passionate musicians and talented artists.
In this modern, globalized, internet age, the importance of shopping and eating local is becoming more evident every day. But folks should be aware that local art and entertainment is accessible as well. And that supporting the local creative economy is equally critical. We believe that people who invest time or money in their own creative economy will find its fruits to be more rewarding and relatable than typical, commercial music and art.
We hope that one day this unique corner of the world - where the Delta meets the Ozarks and the Midwest meets the South - will be a destination for all creators and consumers of art. Together, we can make this happen.
